With the world’s economy crashing in slow motion and tensions between the East and West rising every year, I’m starting to wonder how much longer until World War 3. It’s been said that history repeats itself, and this decade is starting to look more and more like the 1930’s. And we all know what happened in the early 1940’s.
Recently Barak Obama spoke about the dangers of a nuclear Iran and said, “…we think it would take over a year or so for Iran to actually develop a nuclear weapon, but obviously we don’t want to cut it too close.” Whether Iran is that close to developing a nuclear weapon is beside the point. If it is believed that Iran is close, Israel will attack. If that happens, it is very likely that the U.S. would back Israel.
Flashback to just over a year ago when Major General Zhang Zhaozhong, a military General from the Chinese National Defense University, said, “China will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third world war.” And last year, for the first time ever, Obama referred to China as an “adversary” during a foreign policy debate.
Meanwhile in the far East, North Korea is preparing for war after declaring the 1953 armistice invalid a few days ago. And tensions between China and Japan over the East China Sea islands aren’t going away. China is blaming Japan for the escalating tensions.
So how much longer until World War 3? All this tension and posturing could go on for years, or something could trigger a nuclear war today. There’s simply no way of knowing, but we should remain vigilant. Preparing for nuclear war is beyond the scope of this site, but there are some free ebooks on the subject on the survival ebooks page.
By the way, I found an interesting map showing what sides countries are likely to take in World War 3. Click on it to see the full size.
