15 Best Prepper Items You Can Find at Sam's Club

Designed specifically for shoppers who prefer to buy in bulk, Sam’s Club is a prepper’s dream. While you will need to purchase an annual membership in order to shop at Sam’s Club, the reduced price on bulk items is sure to be worth it.

Of course, Sam’s Club is a store that is meant more for commercial customers who need to stock up on supplies for their business than it is for preppers, and you can’t expect to find everything you need for survival preparedness at a Sam’s Club store.

With that said, Sam’s Club is still an excellent place to find a wide number of essential survival products at rock-bottom prices. Just a few of the best prepper items that you can find for sale at Sam’s Club include products such as…

    1. Canned Goods

Canned goods and disaster preparedness go together like peanut butter and jelly. Given that stocking up on food is one of the most important cornerstones of surviving any number of major disasters, canned food items – which tend to have a shelf-life of years and are easy to store in bulk – tend to be one of the most commonly purchased items by preppers who are building their survival stockpile.

With all of that said, Sam’s Club is the go-to place for purchasing canned goods. Their selection of canned food is large, and it’s possible to purchase an entire pallet of canned food at a price that you are sure to appreciate.

    2. Coffee

For many people, the idea of going without coffee for an extended period of time is every bit as frightening as the idea of a worldwide disaster. If you are among the many Americans who refuse to start the morning without a hot cup of brew, ground coffee is certainly something that you will want to stock up on before disaster strikes.

Thankfully, the bulk containers of ground coffee available at Sam’s Club are sure to make any coffee lover’s eyes light up with joy.

    3. Dried Beans

Canned food may be the staple of most preppers’ food stockpiles, but dried beans are certainly a close second. When stored properly, dried beans have a near indefinite shelf-life.

Just as importantly, dried beans are filling and nutritious, and they taste similar to a fresh food item when prepared correctly. At Sam’s Club, you’ll be able to find multiple varieties of dried beans for sale in impressively large bags.

    4. Duct Tape

Of all the products ever invented, duct tape is arguably the most versatile and useful product that a prepper can own. Surviving a major disaster entails being able to make DIY repairs on the fly using the limited materials that are available to you – and nothing makes this demanding task a little less demanding than a roll of duct tape.

Ultimately, duct tape is a product that you can never have too much of, and Sam’s Club makes it easy to purchase this versatile tape in-bulk.

    5. Honey

The primary reason why honey is a useful food item for disaster preparedness is the fact that honey has a nearly indefinite shelf life. While honey isn’t all that filling or nutritious on its own, honey does make for a great and healthy way to sweeten a wide range of dishes.

At a time when sweet treats are likely to be few and far between, honey with its indefinite shelf life is sure to be a valued commodity. While buying honey at most stores means purchasing one small bottle at a time, honey can be purchased in bulk at Sam’s Club in large containers.

    6. Matches

The ability to start a fire is one of the most life-saving skills that a person can know in a variety of different survival scenarios. Of course, getting a good fire going is a much more doable task when you have a good fire starter such as a box of matches.

As a one-use item, though, matches are something that you will want to have a good supply of, meaning that purchasing matches in-bulk at Sam’s Club is a great option to consider.

    7. Over-the-Counter Medications

Speaking of combating illness, over-the-counter (OTC) medications can go a long way toward preventing infection, combating the symptoms of illness, and more. Under ideal circumstances, stocking up on prescription medications would be possible.

For obvious reasons, this is not an option. What is an option, though, is purchasing OTC medications in bulk at Sam’s Club where there is a wide range of such medications available for sale in large quantities. Purchase as many as you can and set them aside; you never know when you or someone you love might need a little assistance in the form of medication.

    8. Powdered Milk

In the event of a major disaster, fresh milk is likely going to be hard to come by unless you happen to own your own milk cow. Of course, stocking up on fresh milk isn’t exactly an option either.

What you can do, though, is stock up on powdered milk instead. When fresh milk isn’t available, powdered milk can be used as a viable substitute in recipes that call for milk – and Sam’s Club makes it easy to stock up on large quantities of powdered milk.

    9. Rubbing Alcohol

In a disaster scenario where taking a trip to the doctor’s office to be prescribed antibiotics isn’t an option, avoiding illness at all costs is a necessity for survival. If left untreated, diseases that are currently easily cured can become life-threatening.

With that being said, proper sanitization is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of illness in a post-disaster, and rubbing alcohol remains one of the easiest and most effective ways to sanitize any number of surfaces. Rubbing alcohol is also a product that can be purchased in large quantities at Sam’s Club, making it a great product to stock up on.

    10. Sugar

Sugar won’t help you avoid starvations, as it’s a food item that has no real nutritional value on its own. What sugar can do is make any number of meals taste a whole lot better and give you the ability to put together a sweet treat from time to time.

If you do decide that sugar deserves a place in your survival stockpile, you’ll be hard-pressed to find better deals on bulk sugar than what you will find at Sam’s Club.

    11. Tea Bags

Whether you enjoy hot tea or iced tea, you should have no trouble finding the right tea bags for you for sale at Sam’s Club. Best of all, tea bags will never spoil – though their flavor may diminish a little over time – making them a great product to stock up on.

    12. Toilet Paper

Toilet paper may not be an absolute necessity for survival, but it sure does make life a lot easier. Unless you plan on plucking leaves from a nearby tree every time nature calls, toilet paper is something that you will want to have readily available – and at Sam’s Club, you can find toilet paper for sale in larger quantities than anywhere else.

Do yourself a favor and stock up on plenty now; you never know how much simple items such as toilet paper really mean until you are forced to go without.

    13. Trash Bags

Along with their intended use, trash bags can be used in a wide variety of ways in a survival scenario, from sealing up a broken window to building a makeshift shelter to fashioning a quarantine room. If you would like to purchase trash bags in bulk at a discounted price, Sam’s Club is a great place to shop.

    14. White Rice

Like dried beans, white rice is go-to item for preppers who are stockpiling food supplies. It’s a tasty, filling, cheap, and nutritious food item that can be bought in incredibly large amounts. White rice also has a shelf life of four to five years and can last even longer than this if it is vacuum-sealed.

While you may have a hard time finding vacuum sealed white rice at Sam’s Club, what you will find is massive bags of white rice that you can then vacuum seal yourself if you so choose.

    15. White Vinegar

White vinegar is a food product that has a wide range of potential uses. In addition to being used in a number of different recipes, white vinegar is also commonly used for household cleaning purposes such as cleaning the floors or cabinets. It’s certainly a great product to have around and one that you can find in large containers at Sam’s Club.
