Recently I came across an interesting article about everyday items you can use for self-defense. As the author says, it’d be nice if you were able to carry a concealed firearm everywhere, but in many places and circumstances, that’s simply not possible.
So what if you need to defend yourself but you don’t have a knife or firearm with you? Well, there are at least five other weapons that are allowed almost everywhere.
This article not only describes these weapons, it also tells you where to get them and includes videos on how to use them. Once you learn to use these weapons properly, you can be armed at all times. Follow the link below to check it out.
My AR;-15 is ok for home defense in an SHTF,but(in my opinion)no match for my Mossberg 590(SP)In and around my home defense perimeter. As just about everyone says,a rifle as in a semi-auto caliber of current or former USA or Soviet Union,Cartridge. Is always touted as in Bugging Out,as in Distance against a possible opponent. No advantage at all in home defense, unless you have a compound with 100’s Of yards of open space at your disposal. My AR-15 is traditional20-inch barrel 1/12 twist.basically Vietnam era in physical appearance,I believe with a small lightweight cartridge where velocity is the main attribute, you need all the barrel length(within reason)you can get.Not necessarily the same may be needed for an AR-10(example)barrel length cut from 20 to 16 inches does lose velocity, but the 308/7.62×51 is so much more of a harder hitting Cartridge that barrel length is not as important(in my opinion)
