The vast majority of preparedness articles are about stockpiling food, water, and survival gear. And while these things are certainly important, having all the survival supplies in the world won’t do you any good if those supplies are stolen by looters, or if you’re killed in a home invasion. So in a way, home security is even more important than stockpiling supplies.
When the SHTF, even law-abiding citizens may turn to crime in order to put food on the table. Your job is to make sure it’s not your food they’re putting on the table. To that end, there are two main things you need to do: 1) Deter criminals so they’ll skip your home and rob someone else. And 2) Make your home so difficult to break into that criminals either fail or give up.
