How to Start a Fire With a Flashlight

Ultimate Survivalist has a really clever way to start a fire with a flashlight. All you have to do is remove the silver cup from the end of the flashlight, put some tinder in the bottom, and aim it at the sun to set the tinder on fire.

I can’t imagine a situation where someone would have a flashlight but not a lighter or a firesteel, but you never know. The reason we should learn all the survival tips we can is so we can be prepared for the unexpected.

That was freakin’ awesome! I had no idea you could start a fire with a flashlight like that. I wonder if it will work with all flashlights though.

Really cool tutorial. I had no idea that such a thing is even possible!
However, I don’t think it’s too useful – having a flashlight but no lighter? That sounds strange to me.
