Paracord is one of the most versatile survival tools. Originally it was used for parachutes, but people quickly found many other uses for it. Paracord was even used by astronauts on a mission to repair the Hubble telescope!
Standard strength paracord can hold up to 550 pounds. The reason it’s so strong is because the sheath is made of 32 strands that have been braided together and the core is made of 7 two-ply yarns. Not only is the cord itself useful, the yarns inside it can be used for sewing and fishing.
If you haven’t already, you should definitely add some paracord to your bug out bag. You could also get a paracord bracelet or a paracord belt so you can take it with you anywhere. They’re well worth the investment.
