No one likes to think about having to fend for him or herself in a survival situation, but as the insanity of the U.S. military industrial complex and the situation with ISIS continues to brew, who knows what could befall us on our own soil? You may find yourself in a survival situation seeking food, water and shelter. Most people are ill-prepared on these fronts.
Those with the best chance of survival are the ones with survival skills. For example, finding and purifying water, erecting shelters in any climate, or even assembling an AR-15 with the right parts and accessories
In a world at war, these 13 survival skills could save your life.

The question about having enough water stored for a year, Is BS.
A family of 4 would need roughly a 16-by-32-foot pool with a 5 ft depth, which will hold about 19,200 gallons.
By the time you figure in water for drinking, food prep, washing food, laundry and personal hygiene, evaporation and loss, leakage and spillage, over a years time, you would be real close to this figure. Add in 10 % for a safety net and it is even closer.
This will by no means allow you to take showers or waste water in any other way, either.
If you are going to grow a garden and need water for that, add some more.
Most families do not the the ability or the room, to store up 15 to 20,000 gallons of water as a minimum amount for a year.
I found this diagram easy to follow and enjoyable. There is a ton of information in here, and it was easy to digest. Great tips, and great read all around.
