How to Start a Fire With a Soda Can

Here’s a great example of how skills trump stuff. Although I recommend carrying a lighter at all times, what if you’re stuck somewhere without a lighter? Or your lighter is lost or submerged? That’s why you need to learn the many ways to make fire.

One simple way to start a fire is with a soda can. You’ll also need some tinder, direct sunlight, and something to polish the bottom of the can (such as chocolate or toothpaste).
