There are a lot of preppers out there with portable stoves, cast iron skillets, and lots of survival food, yet they've never actually cooked a meal without electricity. It's important that you practice off-grid cooking on a regular basis so you're not doing it for the first time during a power outage. Otherwise, you're liable to burn your food or waste your fuel.
If you're not sure where to begin, check out this video by City Prepping. He talks about six meals that are fairly easy to cook over a fire. The meals are:
- Scrambled Eggs and Oatmeal
- Pancakes and Boiled Eggs
- Lasagna with Meat Sauce
- Rice and Beans
- Spaghetti
- Canned Soup
Watch the video below to see him cook these meals and hear his advice on how to do it properly.
