Here’s a fun DIY project: bottle blasters. These things explode with a loud sonic boom when you hit them. They’re great for target practice with slingshots, blowguns, BB guns, and more. In this video, The King of Random demonstrates his bottle blasters and shows you how to make them.

Here’s what you need:
- Tubeless tire valve
- 1 1/2 inch steel end cap
- Water bottle
Here’s what to do:
- Drill of 5/16 hole into the center of the bottle cap.
- Use some pliers to make the hole as smooth as possible.
- Pull the end of the tire valve through the hole.
- Drill a half inch hole into the middle of the steel cap.
- Put the tire valve through the hole and pull it through the cap from the bottom with some pliers. It should pop into place.
- Screw the water bottle back into its cap.
- Pump up the bottle with a bike pump and you’re ready to go.
In the video below, he walks you through these steps. Also, he shows you how to add targets to the bottles and how to make them explode into a colorful cloud of dust.

Who will clean up all the little pieces of plastic or will you just pollute the great outdoors?
You’re a lot of fun at parties, huh?
These look super fun!! I’m making these for Christmas gifts. Where is the best place to buy the end caps, and what is a fair price for them?
Can you use coke bottles and what pressure?wal
What pressures are these being pumped up to? I have tried a couple part filled with chalk dust shot with a 177 which just went straight through. Do I need higher pressures or use a 22? The plan was for 12g but want them working first,,

Pumping it up to 100psi should be enough. If it still isn’t working it might be leaking air.
I’m trying to find a link so I can print out the targets, cool idea
Very interesting post. I love your website and your content
good way to scare off intruders without wasting ammo.
Place it with corn around it and wait for those pesky squirrels to come get a snack.
I made a few of these to have targets nobody can ague about hitting, I actually thing these could be seriously useful as distractions, either shot with a suppressed air gun or used with rat trap trip wires, i shot them with my Gamo whisper IGT in .22 and scared the neighbours so bad they called the cops, living here in the UK acquiring guns legally can be tricky but these brought cops with guns 🙂
