I have a confession: In my twenties, I was terrible with money. I was making a decent income so I didn’t have to worry about it much, but looking back on it now I realize I could have saved thousands of dollars. By the time I was almost 30 years old, I hardly had anything in savings because I had wasted so much going out and buying crap I didn’t need.
Then in 2008, the economic recession prompted me to start prepping. Around the same time I started making a lot less money, and for the first time in my life I was forced to make a budget. How could I possibly buy enough supplies when I hardly had any disposable income? To do it, I had to become a very frugal person.
But how do you become a frugal person? The Organic Prepper wrote a wonderful article about this. Whether you’re a prepper or not, this is a must-read.
