Tornado season is here. I know because last week my wife and two boys spent an hour sitting on the floor of the hallway listening to weather reports. Fortunately no tornadoes hit our town, but several people in various cities across the South lost their lives. Most people don’t worry about tornadoes because they’ve never even seen one, but tornadoes are a very real threat.
Recently I came across two excellent articles about tornado preparedness by The Homesteading Hippy. Between both articles she mentions 13 items (if I counted right) that you should have in case a tornado hits your neighborhood. Tornado season lasts until June so make sure you have these things.
In the first article, she writes, “Tornado season is here, and for those of us in “Tornado Alley“, it’s a time to be prepared. The weather can go from hot, humid and unbearable to having to run for cover in a matter of minutes. You may follow the weather/news and see things like “tornado watch” or “tornado warning”. What does that mean?” Follow the link below to keep reading.
