Recently I came across a great video by TheUrbanPrepper on Youtube (you should definitely subscribe to his channel). It’s about what you should put in your urban “get home bag” and how to organize it so you can get whatever you need at a moment’s notice.
In the prepper world, there’s a lot of talk about bug out bags but not so much about get home bags. Keep in mind that most people spend at least a third of their time away from home, and there are plenty of disaster scenarios where you may be stranded several miles from home. If you already have a bug out bag, the next thing you should do is put together a get home bag and keep it in your vehicle or at your place of work.
He made a very helpful PDF document with a list of everything in the get home bag and links to where you can find the items online. Most of the items are less than $20, and they all have mostly positive reviews.
He also made an excel spreadsheet which you can use to customize the get home bag based on your personal needs.
